1. A quick summary

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up or sign in, we collect:

Health and tracking data you enter

Data you choose to log in the App, such as:

This may constitute health-related information. We process it only to provide the App's core features (tracking, reminders, charts, history). We treat it as sensitive and protect it accordingly.

Purchase and subscription data

When you start a free trial or subscribe, our payments analytics provider (Adapty) and Apple process information such as your subscription status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, and anonymized device/usage signals needed to validate and manage your subscription. We never receive or store your full payment card details. Payments are handled entirely by Apple.

Diagnostics and usage data

We rely on Apple's App Analytics, which provides us with aggregated and anonymized statistics (downloads, sessions, retention, crashes) only from users who have opted in to share analytics with developers in their device settings. This data is not linked to your identity.

Technical data

Our service providers may process limited technical data (e.g., IP address, device type, app version, timestamps) as a necessary part of delivering the service and keeping it secure.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. How we use your information

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area / UK, we rely on the following legal bases:

5. How your information is shared

We share data only with the service providers ("sub-processors") that make the App work:

These providers process data on our behalf under agreements that require appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International data transfers

Some of our service providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data retention

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls so that your synced data is accessible only to your account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and continually improve our safeguards.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Deleting your account: You can delete your account and its synced data directly in the App at Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and associated cloud data.

To exercise any other right, contact us at the email above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Slovakia, the Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR).

10. Children's privacy

Vial is not intended for children. The App is rated for users 17+ and you must meet the minimum age required in your country to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Health information disclaimer

Vial is a personal logging tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or dosing recommendations. The data you enter is for your own tracking purposes. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding any medication or health decision.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
